GREAT OAKS SAISA QUALIFIER UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA October 2-3, 2010 12:26 PM 10-4-10 REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: The SAISA qualifier for the GREAT OAKS regatta featured 16 teams, from as far away as St. Croix, Charleston, and Georgia. Hosted by the University of South Florida, in St. Petersburg, winds on Saturday looked promising, but died quickly. Patiently waiting poolside until the seabreeze filled in more races were run late in the afternoon. Sunday was fantastic, 10-12 kts, not too hot. One protest was heard, resulting in one DSQ. Thanks to coaches from St. Petersburg HS, Ransom Everglades, and St. Croix Country Day for serving as jury. Thanks to USF sailing team members and Waterfront staff for their help.
