competitors’ meeting. It shall be the goal of the race committee to complete one full round robin rotation of boats. Three

races in each division must be completed to constitute a “fair” regatta. All coaching, including instruction, assistance,

equipment or sustenance shall be on shore.

4.     SCORING

4.1 Low point system for individual races as modified by ISSA Rule 9. Ties will be resolved per procedural rule 11 (c).

Note that when the school “team” is composed of  2 or more sailors from different schools, the composite team sailor’s schools

will be indicated on the results. Minimally the 1st – 3rd divisional & top three places will indicate the names of the sailors

crews on the race results. Race highlights with results will be forwarded to SAISA for processing & points will be awarded to

qualify for  participation in the North Points “Gold” regatta to determine qualifiers for the SAISA District Championship,
(qualifier for the ISSA Mallory Trophy regatta).

4.2 Protest hearings, if any, may take place between races. We will attempt to post preliminary results in real time between races.
Final results include the regatta name, venue, date, highlights, and the divisional scores’ summary for each school. Separate divisional
itemization per race follows in order of the teams finish with the final score, additionally a section identifies both skippers & crew,
their grade level with the races sailed (& footnoted identifying a composite team). The winning team is identified at the bottom

7.     ELIGIBILITY

7.1 All 2010/2011 member schools of SAISA are eligible. The regatta is a North Point Lower Coastal Regatta. Points will be

awarded to Upper and Lower Coastal teams to qualify for participation in the North Points “Gold ” regatta to determine

qualifiers for the SAISA District Championship. Other SAISA teams may participate depending upon boat availability. That

team may be scored in place similar to a JV team.

7.2 All teams must be members in good standing with SAISA. If a school wishes to participate, and has not yet paid the

ISSA/SAISA dues, they will be provided the opportunity to pay dues at check-in.

7.3 Registrations for the event should be received no later than Friday Oct 28th for Lower and Upper Coastal

teams. Any boats remaining will be open to other district teams. Registration is on a first paid/ first allowed.

7.4 Competitors must attend the school they represent full time and must be in the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, as of the date of

the Regatta and must be listed on their ISSA/SAISA online team roster. If your school does not have sufficient sailors to form
A & B division teams, we will attempt to “mix and match “sailors from different registered teams as a composite team. Note that
8th grade competitors may sail, but will be scored as a developmental team (0.5 pts.); the regatta will not count toward the Gold Regatta.
Teams without skippers may attend point’s regattas and may register as 'present'; their sailors may be substituted in crew positions.

A team lacking sufficient skippers to compete in both divisions of a two-divisional point’s event may register to sail in either A or B division and will be scored DNS for each race in the division in which they do not field a team.

7.5 An adult school representative/advisor is required to accompany each team and be responsible for the conduct on and off the

water. The team representative, who may be an advisor, coach, or parent, is expected to have full authority to obtain medical

treatment for his team members and have the ability to monitor his/her teams’ experience in their proficiency to sail in varied conditions
as may be encountered.

7.6 Depending on boat availability, eligible SAISA teams may enter both varsity and JV sailors (if the team membership is at

12 or more sailors); however only the varsity team score will be used to determine Championship Points. A JV team may also be entered
only when pre-approved by SAISA. For JV team approval, contact Tom Monkus at (727) 821-9080. Boat priority will be given to non-JV teams.

8.     SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Sailing Instructions will be available upon check-in.

9.     BOATS/EQUIPMENT

Club 420’s will be used and 11 will be provided (if there are 11 registered teams by the Oct 28th cut off).

Guard Type III PFDs must be furnished by the competitors. Bailers will not be provided.

10.   RACING AREA

The racing area will be in the Medway River in the vicinity of BYSC.

11.   DAMAGE

Damage that requires more than normal maintenance is considered a serious incident. If the Protest Committee determines that

reasonable care was not used and resulted in damage one or both boats may be disqualified regardless of any alternative penalties

already taken. In extreme cases, either or both boats may be excluded from the rest of the regatta and held financially responsible

for the damages. Due to varied conditions that may be encountered, and the skill level of individual sailors and teams, it is the advisors
& coaches’ decision to sail and participate and their Decision to Race
