Hello everyone:

First of all: Lots of thanks to the LESC Board of Directors for letting us host the Interscholastic High School South Point 3 regatta at our sailing club! We did our utmost, not to interfere with and stay out of the way of the club’s normal racing activities. The juniors were exited to see all the racing action of the MC, Flying Scott and Wayfarer fleet out on the Lake! You know: there are not many successful dinghy racing clubs around! They could clearly see that there is “life” in dinghy racing after the junior years…! It made them think about the future…

Scott Norman of course was very instrumental in helping us, with taking care off and explaining the Saisa team’s rotation system and teaching us and taking responsibility for computer scoring. Coach Scott Norman has as a learned how to do those things, he is an excellent professional sailing coach and was for many years the Collegiate sailing coach at Eckhart college. He is now coaching the Club 420 and Laser teams for Team 4 Clearwater and Davis Island Sailing Club. Coach Scott Norman told me to give all of you a huge compliment about how well our team under leadership of Leah Ladley ran the Club 420 High School Team regatta!!! Scott especially gave Craig a very well deserved compliment for a job very well done!!! Thank you Martin jr for an excellent PRO job! Lots of thanks to Craig for doing an excellent job with coaching the club 420 class and for keeping the club 420 dinghies in excellent shape; and for rotating the teams on the beach and for bringing those delicious sandwiches out to us on the lake. Thank you Brandon and Sharon Pennington for being the spectator boat! You made many parents very happy to get a close up view of the races!  And of course thanks to the Panzo family who gave us the use of their very nice and roomy pontoon boat to be used as race committee boat! I especially like to add the fantastic job Sam Chapin did with judging all the 16 races and by doing so prevented any “undesired excitement” on the race course: Great job Sam! And of course lots of thanks to Jennifer for doing a great ‘driving’ job, (look at your picture on the website). Many thanks to all volunteers: Laura for keeping all of us ‘well fed’ with delicious sandwiches! Richard Kinnie and Robert Krentel for their excellent work on the PRO boat, Othon and Chris for changing the race course a hundred times; Michelle Kechriotis, Marjorie and Melanie and Caroline Ladley for helping with registration and last but not least: Thank you Melanie and Caroline for keeping the clubhouse looking neat!!!

And of course: Lots of Thanks to Leah for great regatta leadership: You are now our “Admiral” of the Club 420 fleet! Leah: all of us love to work for you!

Again, many thanks to all and very best regards, Martin
