Preliminary 2008-09 North/South Point Mallory Fleet Racing Qualification Series
District Standings

I. Inland Region: To qualify for the NP Gold (NPG) Regatta, participation in 4 regattas are required, and will
count the best 3 out of the total sailed one of which must be out of their “home” area in the Inland Region. The
4^th regatta may be in any region.
The top 8 school teams, 9-12 grade can qualify.
To enter teams must sail A & B divisions with sailor’s 9-12 grade from the same school.
All teams that do not qualify for the NPG regatta are eligible for the Silver Regatta including 2 member
single division teams 8-12 grade with members from the same school.
(NPG regatta is a 2 division regatta 9-12 grade – the Silver Regatta is a single division regatta 8-12 grades.)

II. Coastal Region: To qualify for the NP Gold Regatta, participation in 4 Coastal Region regattas are required,
3 of will count in the “home” area. One or more shall be sailed in the team’s adjoining lower or upper coastal area.
The best 4 out of the total sailed will count (including one in the adjoining area).
The top 8 school teams, 9-12 grades, can qualify.
To enter teams must sail A & B divisions with sailor’s 9-12 grade from the same school.
All teams that do not qualify for the NPG regatta are eligible for the Silver Regatta including 2 member
single division teams 8-12 grade with members from the same school.
(NPG regatta is a 2 division regatta 9-12 grade – the Silver Regatta is a single division regatta 8-12 grades.)

III. South Region: Best of 4 regattas sailed in the series. The top 6-7 school teams, 9-12 grades, will move on
to the District Championship.
Note: All SP teams that do not qualify for the District Championship are eligible for the Silver Regatta at Lake Norman YC in March.
Eligibility includes one single division team 8-12 grade from the same school.

IV. Caribbean Region: Top 1-2 teams from the Caribbean Qualifier will move on to the District Championship.

Note:
o All teams that do not qualify for the NPG or the District Championship regattas are eligible for the Silver Regatta
including all single division teams 8-12 grade.
o Each of the top 6-7 school teams from the NP Gold & top 6-7 SP teams plus 1-2 Caribbean Region teams move
on to the SAISA District Fleet Racing Championship (Mallory).
o The top HS teams from the District championship will move on to the ISSA National Fleet Racing Championship
for the Mallory Trophy, May 17-19, 2009, at the St. Petersburg sailing Center (FL) sailing 420’s and FJs, per district
allocations.
